Login Error Help: "You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password."

Hi Everyone,

If you try to login, have tried re-setting your password, and/or have tried re-registering for the forum and get the following error message:

You have specified an incorrect or inactive username, or an invalid password.

What has likely happened is a glitch in the forum software.
Even though you are likely a registered active user, the forum software is no longer recognizing you as such.

If this ever happens to you, please let me know as this is something I need to fix manually in the administration panel of the forum.

Information I need (so I can search through the users list for your account):
-Username you used to register / login with
-E-mail address you used to register / login with
-And, if you tried to register with any other usernames / e-mail addresses, please also let me know:
1. What they are
2. Which one you would like me to fix
3. Which one(s) you would like me to delete (as you can only have one active account).

I will then reset some settings in the administration panel of your account, manually reset your password, and send you a follow-up e-mail.

In the meantime, you can also try clearing the cache and cookies of your web browser to clear any errors that may be interfering with your login attempts:

I was just browsing through the Forum Administration Panel and noticed there are a number of people who registered for the forum, but did not complete the activation process.

If you remember registering for this forum, but are having issues logging in, please check your spam box for the activation e-mail sent by this forum.

If you cannot find the e-mail, please contact me with the information you used to create your account:

This non-specific error message also appears when one simply mistypes / misspells the username and/or password, so if you know your username and password and receiving this message, you may need to clear your browser cache and cookies:

If it has been a while since you last logged in and you may have forgotten your log in details, the forum does have a password reset feature on the log in screen:

However, you do need to know the username and e-mail address you used to register for the forum.
