October 4-6, 2013: Vintage Volvo Challenge at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Hi Everyone,

The Vintage Volvo Challenge is BACK!
(Remember the 2010 Volvo Historic Races at Sears Point? Check out some videos on our YouTube Page)

Alan Berry has invited us to participate and/or attend again this year!

This year the races are scheduled over the October 4-6, 2013 weekend at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Cars that qualify for the Volvo group as well as regular run groups:

1979 and older Volvo or Saab powered cars, production, tube frame okay or unique sports racers. Anything else would have to be approved by VARA. All cars will need to be equipped with typical safety gear including five point harnesses, roll bar or cage, fire system, fuel cell, external cut off switch, etc. and will be subject to a VARA tech inspection prior to racing. All rules can be viewed at vararacing.com

“Spectators and Car Show Participants will pay $15 at the gate for the full weekend. Entrants will get two gate passes with each entry.

Low hotel group rate for racers, car show entrants and spectators is currently being negotiated by VARA. I will post details as soon as I have them.

A quick update from Alan:

The Volvo Challenge in Las Vegas will have well over 10 vintage racing Volvos running together all weekend. The event is October 4-6th 2013. Go to www.volvochallenge.com for all the details. Street Volvos of any vintage welcome to the car show in the pits. $15 each for the three day weekend!!!!!
