April 4, 2009- Intro to Car Shows/Concours Events & Lunch
Hi Everyone,
We are pleased to announce our second event of the year!
What:
Introduction to the World of Car Shows Class & Lunch
Copy and Paste from SacVCOA E-mail Announcement:
With Spring rapidly approaching, Jon Manji will get into detail regarding how to prepare your car for many of the car shows that are scheduled in California during the months of April and May. Jon will be presenting a slide show and will also use actual cars as an example to demonstrate strategies and techniques to make your car look its best.
When:
Saturday, April 4, 2009
9:00A
Where:
Coloma Community Center (near UCD Med Center)
Gold Run Room (located at the front of the Community Center)
4623 T Sreet
Sacramento, CA 95819
Copy and Paste from the Event Flyer:
What are car shows all about, and what’s the best way to prepare to attend one? With the car show season starting soon, please join us for this overview of the background and structure of car shows. We'll also cover some evaluation techniques that you can use on your own car to determine your strategy to show it at its best. Car show newcomers and veterans alike will find the material presented in this class invaluable in preparing to participate in and enjoy future shows.
This is not a "How to Restore Your Volvo" or "How to Detail Your Volvo" class; the focus will be on providing a summary of how shows are typically structured, including judging procedures, and how you can evaluate your car so that your time and resources are spent wisely. While this class is geared toward Volvos and typical Volvo Club of America/Volvo Sports America
(VCOA/VSA) meet formats, the information to be presented applies to all types of car shows.
Long-time VCOA/VSA member Jon Manji will be conducting the class, which is based on his car show experience. He has served as Field Captain for two VCOA national meets and performed other judging duties for many other meets and shows.
Note: Due to meeting space limitations, RSVPs are required for this event, so please contact me by April 2nd.
In your RSVP, please provide your name and the number of people you are responding for (include yourself in the count), as well as your preferred contact info (only for notice of last-minute event changes).
If you have any questions or wish to RSVP, please send me a PM.
-----
The class will be held at the Coloma Community Center, Gold Run Room (located at the front of the Center), 4623 T Street, in Sacramento.
From Highway 50 Eastbound, take the 34th St. exit, turn left at the first traffic light on to 34th St. (north). Turn right at the next traffic light on to T St.
Proceed across Stockton Blvd., the Center is at the intersection of T and 47th Streets.
From Highway 50 Westbound, take the Stockton Blvd. exit and turn left at the traffic light and left again at the next traffic light at T Street. The Center is at the intersection of T and 47th Streets.
